Port Blair, Dec. 11: The candidates who have applied for allotment of various Professional/Technical/Non-Technical courses including Malayalee Origin seats reserved at mainland institutions for the academic session 2022-23 have been informed that the counseling for BDS-2 seats, BHMS-4 seats, BAMS-3 seats, BAMS (Malayalee Origin) -1 seat and B.Sc Agriculture (Malayalee Origin) -1 seat will be held tomorrow (Dec.12) at 10 am in the auditorium of Tagore Govt. College of Education.

Port Blair, Dec. 9: In a great blow to the autocratic and anti-working class policies of the BJP-led government at the Centre and its Administration in A&N Islands, the Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta on 2nd December 2022 has imposed a cost of Rs. 1.25 lakh  on the A&N Administration to be paid to the CITU-affiliated Andaman Sarvajanik Nirman Vibhag Mazdoor Sangh (ASNVMS) within one week for the dilatory tactics adopted by the Govt of India and A&N Administration in pursuing the  Appeal filed by  them against the  judgement dated 13th  December 2019, directing the Administration and Govt. of India  to extend the financial benefits of 1/30th of pay plus DA Scheme to all the DRM workers from the date of their initial appointment as per the Govt. of India’s order of 1988.

Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organizing Committee has condoled the demise of Smt K. Omana Amma, a retired employee of the Electricity Department and resident of Haddo, Port Blair today (10.12.2022) afternoon at GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair. She was 73 years. Ayyappan conveyed his heartfelt condolence to the family members of Smt K. Omana Amma.     

Port Blair, Dec. 9: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to open the newly built Girls’ Hostel of ANCOL as soon as possible after completing the pending works so that it brings some relief for girl students and to extend the capacity of all Boys’ and Girls’ hostels of JNRM and ANCOL as well as MGGC, keeping next ten years’ demand in mind.
