Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has deeply mourned the sad and untimely demise of Mehmood, Assistant Divisional Officer, Delhi Fire Service, R/o Dollygunj, Port Blair who passed away at Delhi on 15th October 2022. He prayed to the Almighty to give eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

Port Blair, Oct. 16: The Directorate of Agriculture is implementing a Central Sector Scheme RKVY-RAFTAAR under which one project namely ‘Creation of Marketing Infrastructure’ is undertaken for post-harvest marketing support to farmers. Under the project, back ended subsidy is provided for purchase of Truck of 1.5-2.0 MT capacity for transportation of agricultural produce by the Farmers/ Farm Women/ST Farmers.  Registered FPG/SHG/FPO /NGO/CPC or CPS are also eligible to avail the benefit of the scheme. The subsidy under the scheme is 50% limited to Rs 2.50 lakhs per truck.

Port Blair, Oct. 16: The Government of India launched a landmark scheme ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ (ONORC) to facilitate migrants meeting their requirement of foodgrains at a very affordable rate. This scheme was implemented by the Central Government in a war footing manner in the wake of pandemic COVID-19 to avoid struggle of the socio-economically weaker migrant labourers to meet both ends of their livelihoods. This UT Administration has taken relentless efforts, leaving no stone unturned to implement this scheme within the established time frame by the Central Government and made functional with effect from February 2021.

Port Blair, Oct. 16: During the visit of Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman to Shaheed Dweep, the people of the area reported about the encroachment of Govt. land. Based on the complaints, DC (SA) ensuring zero tolerance towards encroachment immediately issued strict direction to Revenue officials to remove the encroachment. Accordingly, the Revenue field functionaries carried out encroachment eviction drive at Shaheed Dweep under Port Blair Tehsil today. Fresh encroachment committed in the shape of temporary structure near natural bridge at Lakshmanpur village in Shaheed Dweep were removed and an area of 0.06 ha has been restored into the Govt. Khata.
