Mayabunder, Sept. 30: To empower and inspire the youth of the district, the North & Middle Andaman District Police has launched the “DISHA” initiative, a comprehensive career guidance program aimed at students with aspirations for careers in the Civil Services and Armed Forces. This initiative is designed to provide mentorship and in-depth insights into these prestigious fields, helping students explore opportunities and guiding them in their preparation journey.

Kamorta, Sept. 30: Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC) conducted Phase III of the Ex-Servicemen Outreach Programme for veterans residing in Kamorta and Nancowry Islands from 25-28 Sep 24. The main event was inaugurated by Commander Phani Kumar Nadendla, Commanding Officer, INS Kardip, on 28 Sep 24 at the Community Healthcare Centre, Kamorta.

A medical screening camp for civilians was also organized by HQ ANC at Community Health Center (CHC) Kamorta. Medical specialists, including an ophthalmologist and dental from INHS Dhanvantari and the Integrated Medical Station (IMS), were present to assist the local population. A total of 126 persons from Kamorta and Nancowry Islands attended the camp.

Diglipur, Sept. 30: To provide a Platform for School Students to showcase their talent in the field of Science Innovation, “Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan” has been launched by the Samagra Shiksha across the country. In the Islands too, the programme is being implemented by the Directorate of Education, covering all the Blocks and Clusters of Schools from Diglipur to the Southernmost place Campbell Bay. Under this National Programme a “Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshini” was conducted today at the Secondary School Laxmipur of Diglipur, where the display of the Science working models by the rural students was applauded by the visitors.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 30: A Musical Evening titled ~ "Meri Awaaz Hi Pahechaan Hai #3 (Ishwar Satya Hai !!!)" was presented by 'Jhumurr Socio-Cultural Society', Sri Vijaya Puram with a team of LM-fan Club on 28th September 2024 at Hotel Driftwood, Haddo in honour of the inimitable Singing Legend & Bharat Ratna - Lata Mangeshkar on her 95th Birth Anniversary. The show, open to all for witnessing, has been organised in association with Hotel Driftwood, Haddo, Sri Vijaya Puram.
