Campaign to be Held at Wandoor on Sept. 9

Port Blair, Sept. 7: The Directorate of Industries jointly with the A&N Islands Khadi & Village Industries Board organized an Awareness Campaign-cum-People’s Education Programme on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme, PMFME and other Govt. sponsored self-employment schemes at the Gram Panchayat, Chouldari, South Andaman district in association with the Directorate of Agriculture, Fisheries and PRIs in the presence of Block Development Officer, Ferrargunj today.

Port Blair, Sept. 7: A meeting will be held in the Conference Hall of Directorate of Rural Development Office, Marine Hill, Port Blair, South Andaman under the Chairmanship of the District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) on Sept. 13, 2022 at 11 am in connection with the arrangements of law and order for the celebrations of Durga Puja-2022 and concluding with immersion of idols.

Port Blair, Sept. 7: The National De-worming Day (NDD) is implemented biannually (February & August) with the aim to reduce the load of intestinal worms and related morbidity in children and adolescent from 1-19 years. The main objective of the NDD is to improve the overall wellbeing nutritional status, access to education and quality of life. Under this programme, all children and adolescents from 1-19 years are dewormed through administration of deworming tablet through the platform of Schools and Anganwadi Centers.

Port Blair, Sept. 7: The learners of Indira Gandhi National Open University of Study Centre, Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM) have been informed that counseling classes will be conducted on Sundays from September 18, 2022 onwards. The learners have been advised to contact the Study Centre for the arrangement of respective counseling classes.

Port Blair, Sept. 7: Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) has been presently notified for implementation throughout A&N for Kharif season 2022.  Under the scheme, paddy crop is presently notified for insurance. The maximum scale of finance fixed for paddy is Rs. 71002.00 per Ha (for High Yielding Variety) and Rs. 67053.00 per Ha (For traditional variety). The total sum that can be insured against possible losses is arrived at, by multiplying the scale of finance with the area covered.
