Port Blair, July 24: High waves in the range of 2.1-3.7 meters have been forecasted till 23:30 hours of 25-07-2024. Small vessels have been advised not to ply, near shore recreation activities to be totally suspended as erosion/wave surges are possible. Port Blair, July 24: The cargo vessel MV Chuglam will sail for Campbell Bay via Car Nicobar, Chowra, Teressa, Katchal & Nancowry on Aug. 1 at 1500 hrs from Chatham Wharf/Junglighat Jetty and will sail for Port Blair immediately after discharging/loading of cargo at respective ports. Booking of cargo for the above sailing will commence from July 25 onwards between 0900 hrs & 1200 hrs at Commercial Wing.

Whereas, inputs have been received that Anti-national elements might carry out unlawful acts in South Andaman District which might endanger both, persons and property.
And whereas, these Anti-national elements may stay in Hotels, Guest houses, Bed & Breakfast (Home Stays), Lodges, etc. while doing preparation, reconnaissance, and actual execution of these unlawful acts.

Whereas, it has been made to appear to me that there is an apprehension that anti-social elements may make their hideouts clandestinely in the residential/commercial areas of the South Andaman District. If suitable measures to prevent the same are not taken, the unlawful activities of these people can cause breach of peace and tranquility besides posing grave danger to human life and safety and injury to public property.
Now, therefore, I, Arjun Sharma, IAS, District Magistrate, South Andaman District, am of the opinion that some check vigil is necessary on landlords/owners/managers of the residential/commercial establishments while renting out or sub-letting the premises so that anti-social elements in the guise of ordinary tenants, domestic servants & Paying Guest may not cause harm to the citizen and that immediate action is necessary for prevention of the same.
