Port Blair, June 15: Communist Party of India (Marxist) has demanded to carry out the pre-school opening renovation/repair works on the school buildings, etc. during the summer vacation period with the help of elected representatives, SMCs, PTAs, service associations of teachers, etc. from the next academic session onwards.   In a letter sent to the Director of Education, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee drew the attention of the Education Department to the dilapidated condition of a large number of school buildings in these islands.  Ayyappan told the Director of Education that during his visit to various outstations, people of the concerned area have urged him to take up the matter with the Education Department about the urgent need to carry out repair and renovation of the school buildings.

Port Blair, June 15: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder has demanded the Administration for urgent repairs of the STS Bus unit operating in the Mayabunder and Rangat regions.

In a letter addressed to the Directorate of Transport, A&N Administration, Halder highlighted the condition of the STS Buses in the aforementioned areas which are deteriorating significantly with mechanical problems such as faulty engines, malfunctioning brakes and suspension issues resulting in disruptions of transport services.

Port Blair, June 15: As part of the observance of ‘World Blood Donor Day’ 2023, Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) in coordination with Blood Bank, G. B. Pant Hospital, Directorate of Health Service organized Blood Donation Camps at various institution/organization. The Blood Donation Camp was organized at Industrial Training Institute, Dollygunj yesterday during which, 31 units of blood were donated.
