Port Blair, Aug 25: Disaster Management Training imparted to the students and faculties of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Science (ANIIMS), Port Blair in the one-day Training Workshop held at Lecture Hall-III, ANIIMS on 25.08.2022 to achieve the vision “Develop, Promote and Prepare Youth for managing disasters in ANI” under Disaster Management in Higher Education (DMHE) programme.

Port Blair, Aug 25: The last date for submission of e-prospectus-cum-application forms for admission to Four Years Integrated Programme in Education viz. B.Sc.B.Ed. Mathematics and Computer Science, B.A.B.Ed. English, Hindi and History for the academic session 2022-23 in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair has been extended up to 28th August 2022 to enable the desirable candidates of outer islands to submit their application forms who could not do it before. Desirous candidates can now submit their online application forms up to 28th August 2022 via http://collegeadmission.andaman.gov.in.

Port Blair, Aug. 25: World Ozone Day is celebrated every year on 16th September commemorating the date on which Montreal Protocol on substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer was signed in 1987. The Day is observed with the objective of creating awareness regarding importance of Ozone Layer and India’s commitment to the Montreal Protocol to phase out Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS). As part of the celebration of the Day Department of Science & Technology, A & N Administration is organising a Poster making competition (size of 56cmx 35cm (half chart paper)) for school (Senior Secondary level) and college students on the theme: ‘Ozone for Life’ on virtual mode.

Port Blair, Aug. 25: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,96,097 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,941 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 28, 092 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 2,23,629.
