Port Blair, July 8: CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee deeply mourn the untimely passing away of Shri Zubair Ahmed, Freelance Journalist and resident of Wimberlygunj today (8.7.2022). He was a committed social worker and had tried to create awareness among the islanders against the ill-effects of liquor and drugs. He voiced against the authoritarian style of functioning of ruling classes on many occasions and had to face the wrath of those in power. CPI (M) pays rich homage to his memory and conveys its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.

Port Blair, July 8: As per the approval accorded by the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands the Middle Andaman Forest Division released an amount of Rs. 5,00,000/- being the compensation granted to Smti. Dollen Kispotta D/o Late Elen Barla R/o Shaktigarh, Middle Andaman on 8th July 2022. The compensation was handed over by Shri Satyaprakash Singh, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, MA, Rangat.

Through news and his vast experienced views stand upon bold, free and fair journalism, he has won the hearts of islanders for decades. Earlier, he was the Editor of weekly views magazine ‘The Light of Andaman’.
