Port Blair, Sept. 5: All the candidates who have applied for the post of Legal Metrology Officer in the Directorate of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs have been informed that the CBT Examination is scheduled to be held on 09/09/2023 at DBRAIT in assistance with C-DAC in two shifts i.e., 9 am to 11 am & 1pm to 3 pm.

Port Blair, Sept. 5: As per the direction of the Competent Authority, the Office timing for Departments/Offices under A&N Administration has been restored. As per the revised circular issued by Assistant Secretary (GA), the Office timing for Departments/Offices will now be from 8.30 am to 5 pm with half an hour break from 1 pm to 1.30 pm with immediate effect. It may be recalled that vide Administration’s Order No. 642 dated 13.03.2023, the Office timing was modified as 7.30 am to 4.30 pm.

Kuldeep Rai Sharma has proposed for Free Entry in all Tourist places for tourists and Islanders on World Tourism Day on 27th September 2023.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, the Member of Parliament pointed out that Tourism is not merely a sector here; it's the lifeline for thousands of Islands. It stands as one of the most substantial industries in the Islands, providing employment opportunities to thousands of our youths and generating significant revenue for the government.

Port Blair, Sept. 4: The Andaman and Nicobar Command conducted a comprehensive mock drill on 04 Sep 23, to assess emergency services' readiness for an Air Crash Accident including Mass Casualty Evacuation at the Veer Savarkar International Airport. Various stakeholders joined to holistically exercise collective response capabilities.

Coordinated by INS Utkrosh, this exercise involved medical units of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, relevant government agencies (which included Health Services, Disaster Management, GB Pant Hospital, Pillar Hospital, Civil Police, CISF, Air Port Authority of India), and airline operators.
