PBGKR Celebrates World Environment Day 2024 at Bageecha

Port Blair, June 9: Continuing its activities to serve the society, Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi (PBGKR) today celebrated the ‘World Environment Day 2024’ at Bageecha along with the children of Pranab Kanya Sangha and volunteers of Bageecha. The event by PBGKR was aimed at serving mother nature too along with the members of the society we live in.

The celebration was marked with planting of a Chiku sapling at Bageecha premises by all those who were present on the occasion. The idea behind planting a single sapling, instead of a mass planting drive was to ensure that everyone present were able to learn how to take care of the sapling they had planted. The gathering of children and volunteers took a vow on the occasion, that they have adopted the plant and will ensure that it remains healthy and thriving.

Port Blair, June 9: The Holistic Summer Camp hosted by the A&N Police from 13th May to 8th June concludes. The closing ceremony held at Police Lines, was graced by Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, the Director General of Police, as the Chief Guest. Senior officers of the A&N Police also attended the function, highlighting the importance of the Summer Camp and its profound impact on the community.

Port Blair, June 9: Based on the sighting of moon in these Islands, the Andaman & Nicobar Hilal Committee in its meeting has unanimously decided that ‘Eid-ul-Adha’ will be celebrated in these Islands on June 17, 2024.

Port Blair, June 9: The Communist Party of India (Marxist), Andaman & Nicobar State organizing Committee expresses its gratitude to all those voters of Andaman & Nicobar Parliamentary Constituency, who voted for the CPI (M) candidate in the election held on 19th April, 2024.  CPI (M) State Organising Committee will review the performance of the Party in the election and take necessary corrective measures to regain the confidence of the islanders. CPI (M) will, however, continue to highlight and conduct movements on people’s issues like (i) growing unemployment, (2) unchecked price rise, (iii) deplorable condition of roads and National Highway, (iv) frequent power cut, (v) growing corruption, etc.  

Rangat, June 9: In a commendable display of vigilance and swift action, the Rangat Police Station successfully recovered stolen cows, reinforcing their commitment to combat illegal cattle trafficking.

On 07.06.24, a complaint of the theft of two cows was reported at PS Rangat. Following this, a FIR under the relevant sections was lodged. Immediately, a team consisting of SI Manoj Lal, and PCs K. Sameer, MK Akbar Ali, and Pranab Halder was constituted under the leadership of SI Madhab Halder, SHO PS Rangat. After intense searching in the nearby creeks and sea area, a dinghy carrying cattle in a hazardous manner was intercepted amid rough sea in a midnight operation with the assistance of the PMF unit of Rangat, led by SI Abdul Latheef. On inquiry about the transportation of cattle, the traffickers failed to produce any valid documents, indicating their involvement in illegal cattle trafficking. Further, the cattle were safely recovered and brought to shore, along with the alleged offenders, for further legal action. Sections of Cruelty against animals were also added to the investigation against the traffickers of the said cattle.
