Port Blair, Aug. 14: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,94,664 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23932 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 27, 707 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 176585.

Port Blair, Aug. 14: No COVID positive case has been detected today in A&N Islands. Today, 9 flights with 1633 passengers arrived, out of which, 1478 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 101 passengers and the reports are awaited.  

Port Blair, Aug. 12: The Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra  launched an end-to-end online solution https://pcs.andaman.gov.in for Port Clearance and berthing permission from Home Department and PMB for foreign vessels today in the presence of Secretary (Home), Secretary (IT), Secretary (Shipping) and Special Secretary (IT).

Port Blair, Aug 12: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded sufficient numbers of buses for the STS unit of Diglipur, so that adequate numbers of buses can be operated for students and the general public.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, he mentioned that there is a huge shortage of buses in the State Transport Department (STS) unit for the residents of Diglipur.

Hari Kallikkat Inaugurates 3-Day Beach Volley Ball Tournament at Corbyn’s Cove

Port Blair, Aug. 12: The much awaited 3-day open to all League-cum-Knockout Beach Volleyball Tournament got underway at the sprawling Corbyn’s Cove beach here this afternoon. The pleasant weather and cheerful atmosphere was perfect for the kick start of the event at the picturesque venue wherein the Secretary IP&T, Shri Hari Kallikkat inaugurated the event by tossing the coin for the teams and making the first service. This also marked the inauguration of the second Volleyball Court at Corbyn’s Cove Beach which has recently been developed by the Tourism Department. Interestingly, teams from Diglipur in North to Kamorta in Southern Group of Islands are participating in the event.
