Port Blair, March 7: The last date for fresh Admission and Re-Registration for the next year / semester in Indira Gandhi National Open University's for January 2022 has been extended up to 15th March, 2022 without any late fees. Port Blair, Mar. 7: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,08,112 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly,23,211 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 8907.

While Voter Turnout was an Encouraging 70.29% in Panchayats, Municipal Wards Record 45.3% Turnout

Port Blair, March 6: The Panchayat & Municipal Elections, 2022 were held peacefully for 686 constituencies of 70 Gram Panchayats and 114 polling booths for 24 Wards of Port Blair Municipal Council in A&N Islands today.

Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were used for Port Blair Municipal Council Elections while Elections for PRIs were held through Ballot Papers.

The polling was conducted very smoothly under the close supervision and monitoring of Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Director (Panchayat and Municipal Elections), A&N Islands.

Port Blair, Mar. 7:  During the RT-PCR test conducted on 222 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 18 flights with 3137passengers arrived, out of which, 2883 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted 176 on passengers and the reports are awaited.  

Port Blair, March 6: After completion of the polling for the Panchayat & Municipal Elections for A&N Islands, elaborate arrangements have been made for smooth and speedy counting of votes on March, 08, 2022 from 8 am onwards.

The Counting of votes for constituencies of Port Blair Panchayats will be done at Girls Senior Secondary School and the counting of votes for PBMC will be done at Jawahar Lall Nehru Rajekeeya Mahavidhyalaya (JNRM), while for other Panchayats it will be done at respective Tehsils.
