Port Blair, Jan 8: The Port Blair Municipal Council has ensured resumption of skilled training for the job of Assistant Electrician under Employment through Skill Training & Placement (EST&P) component under DAY-NULM scheme. The training resumed at the empanelled training centre (i.e) M/s SWADHIN, Prothrapur after being suspended for several months owing to COVID-19 pandemic

Port Blair, Jan 8: Considering ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and consequential adverse impact on imparting training for in-service police personnel, the Police Training School, Prothrapur of Andaman & Nicobar Police has initiated short courses on virtual platform. In this process, an one day short course on “Cyber Crime” has conducted on 07/01/2021 from 1000 hrs to 1330 hrs. The objective of the course is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the police personnel related to Cyber Crime. During the session, Inspr. Mahesh Yadav, SHO PS CCS & SI Abdul Manaf of PTS Prothrapur delivered lectures on Cyber Crime & its types, legal provision related to Cyber Crime, Modus Operandi of Cyber Crime etc. by screening power point presentation.

Part of Little Andaman Island Declared as Micro Containment Zone

Port Blair, Jan 7: In view of detection of a number of COVID-19 positive cases in Little Andaman, part of Hut Bay has been declared as Micro Containment Zone by the District Administration. The Micro Containment Zone has been declared as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Ministry of Home Affairs from time to time.

Port Blair, Jan 7: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to resolve issue regarding re-settlement/shifting package of original 47 repatriated Sri Lankan Tamil settlers family from Katchal (Tribal area) to Non-Tribal area. This has been pending with the Administration since last 25 years for which they have been continuously pressing.
