Port Blair, April 19: On 18/04/2022 a credible information was received that two persons were carrying venison near Coconut Plantation, Collinpur. Upon this, a team comprising of ASI Muthukannan along with PC Sasi Kumar Das apprehended two persons who were carrying white coloured plastic bag. The Police team checked the bag and recovered suspected venison weighing about 35 kgs (approximately) and a machete from their possession. The details of the persons are: Kamal Roy S/o Shri Kartick Roy (30) yrs R/o Collinpur and Pritam Singh S/o Shri. Kalu Singh (31) yrs R/o Manpur. Both the persons were detained and brought to PS Ograbraj. Later on, the detained persons alongwith the seized articles were handed over to Forest Department.

Port Blair, April 19: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,12,964 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,409 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 10,920 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 16,330.

Port Blair, April 19: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 204 incoming flight passengers yesterday, no positive case has been detected. During RAT conducted on 28 passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Helipad, 10 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 36 passengers and no positive case has been detected. At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 11 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected.
