Port Blair, Sept. 5: Two covid positive cases have been detected today in A&N Islands, of which, one incoming flight passenger who arrived here yesterday was found positive while screening. Today, 8 flights with 1334 passengers arrived, out of which, 1187 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 115 passengers and the reports are awaited.

Port Blair, Sept. 4: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to felicitate the toppers of Class X and Class XII of academic session 2021-2022.

He has also requested to consider felicitation of the toppers of academic session 2019-2020 during the function to be organsied by the Education department at Raj Niwas.

Port Blair, Sept. 4: Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) Hon'ble Lt Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency participated in the 30th Southern Zonal Council meeting chaired by Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister and hosted by Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala at Thiruvananthapuram to promote fisheries & other marine products recommended. Institution of Co-operative mechanism with coastal States to utilize the untapped potential in a mutually beneficial arrangements including direct exports from Port Blair to South East Asia since MPEDA and EIA have directly been setup. Also, to ensure greater availability of land both for Agriculture & developmental infra projects, recommended compensatory Afforestation by Andaman and Nicobar Administration in member States and Southern Zonal Council.

Port Blair, Sept. 4: Shri. M.Vinod, President AATO and Shri. K.Hamza, General Secretary paid a courtesy call to Shri. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary A&N Administration. During the calls Vinod appraised the CS about the activities of AATO and also shared his vision for holistic development of the tourism sector in A&N Islands.
