Seven Days State Mourning to be Observed Throughout India

Port Blair, Aug 31: The Government of India announces with profound sorrow the death of Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Former President of India at Army Research and Referral Hospital, New Delhi on 31st August, 2020.

Port Blair, Aug 31: In pursuance of powers vested under the Disaster Management Act 2005, and in order to enforce strict compliance of the National Directives on COVID-19 and contain the spread of COVID-19 in South Andaman District, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, District Magistrate, South Andaman has issued the following SOPs.

  1. Activities permitted during Unlock 4 period outside containment zones in South Andaman District:

Port Blair, Aug 31: The District Magistrate, South Andaman has issued the following Standard Operating Procedures for shops & establishments other than Restaurant/ Hotels & Hair Salons/ Barber Shops to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Port Blair, Aug 31: The Dy. Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS along with Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, SDM (SA) and Shri Lakshay Singhal, IAS (P) visited Swaraj and Shaheed Dweep to oversee the status of COVID-19 management wherein the DCSA interacted with the Health Officials, Police, PRI members, Market Association and Community Representatives. During the visit the DC appealed to the PRIs and others to extend full support to mobilize community resources and supplement the efforts of health authorities.

Port Blair, Aug 31: The District Magistrate South Andaman has issued the following SOPs to be followed in Restaurants/ Hotels to contain spread of COVID-19.

Given the current coVID-19 outbreak in India, it is important that restaurants/ Hotels and other hospitality units take suitable measures to restrict any further transmission of the virus while providing restaurant services.
