Port Blair, Aug 28: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Union Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi to make special provision for patients of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to provide travelling cost by flight and include all medical tests in the final bill of Ayushman Bharat Scheme.

In a letter addressed to the Union Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Member of Parliament further requested that in case making such special provision in Ayushman Bharat Scheme is not possible for Andaman & Nicobar Islands, then Andaman and Nicobar Administration may be allowed to continue Andaman & Nicobar Islands Scheme for Health Insurance (ANISHI) for the resident of Andaman & Nicobar Islands in place of Ayushman Bharat Scheme, as a special case, until proper medical treatment facilities for all the serious diseases are created in the Hospitals in A&N Islands.

Port Blair, Aug 28: The A&N Islands Private Practicing Doctors Association along with Dr. Kamakshi Memorial Hospital, Chennai conducted one-day workshop on "Basic Life Support" at Hotel Lemon Tree auditorium on 28/8/22. On this occasion an expert team of professional doctors of emergency department of Dr. Kamaskhi Memorial Hospital, Chennai.

Port Blair, Aug 28: The Hindu Rashtra Shakti (HRS) has called upon the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to not allow gambling activities in the Islands especially at Puja Pandals. The HRS has also tried to draw the attention of the Lt. Governor on the non-veg stalls at Puja Pandals, which the HRS feels should not be allowed.

 

Port Blair, Aug 28: A three (3) days training programme on “First Aid Fire Fighting & Disaster Preparedness” was conducted at Fire Service Training Centre, Fire Service (HQ) from 23/08/2022 to 25/08/2022 to sensitize Teachers, Government Servants, Petrol Pump staff, Hoteliers and General Public.
