Sri Vijaya Puram, June 27: Since the moon has not sighted in these Islands yesterday hence the Andaman & Nicobar Hilal Committee in its meeting unanimously decided that Islamic New Year 1447AH begins from 28th June 2025 (Saturday) Hence Ashura i.e. 10th day of Muharram will be on the 7th July 2025 on Monday and the fasting will be observed on 6th & 7th July 2025.
The Hilal Committee conveys its good wishes on this auspicious occasion to all the people of these islands. May this Muharram strengthen world peace, prosperity, bonds of brotherhood and bring happiness amongst all the people.
