Sri Vijaya Puram, July 19: The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, A&N Administration in collaboration with Department of Tourism, A&N Administration and Sports Authority of India (SAI) has organised the Island Monsoon Cycling Tour–2026 today to promote fitness, healthy living, eco-friendly transportation, and adventure tourism in the Islands.
The cycling tour commenced in the morning from Netaji Stadium and concluded at Corbyn’s Cove, witnessing enthusiastic participation from cyclists of all age groups.
Smti. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, SP (SA), as the chief guest flagged off the cycling tour in the presence of the Director (Sports) and commended the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs for organizing the event.
The Island Monsoon Cycling Tour–2026 concluded, reaffirming the Administration’s commitment to promoting sports, fitness, active lifestyles, and tourism through community-based sporting events across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The overwhelming response from the participants reflected the growing enthusiasm for cycling and recreational sports in the Union Territory.
