Van Mahotsav, the Festival of Trees, is a celebration of nature and a reminder of our collective responsibility towards environmental conservation. On the occasion of Van Mahotsav-2026, being observed on the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the A&N Islands.
Blessed with rich forests, unique biodiversity and ecologically sensitive ecosystems, our Islands are a priceless natural heritage. Forests are vital for maintaining ecological balance, conserving natural resources and ensuring sustainable development for future generations.
This year’s theme, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” beautifully reflects the values of care, gratitude and nurturing. It inspires us to plant and protect trees as a tribute to our mothers and to Mother Nature.
I urge all citizens, especially the youth, to actively participate in tree plantation and conservation activities and contribute towards building a greener, cleaner and more sustainable A & N Islands.
Jai Hind!
