Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 22: The Ministry of Culture, Government of India will be organizing ‘Parakram Diwas–2026’ at Sri Vijaya Puram, A&N Islands, from Jan. 23 to 25 and 13 other different iconic locations across India associated with Netaji’s journey of life to commemorate 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, one of India’s most revered freedom fighters. The main function will be held at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram tomorrow (Jan. 23) at 4 pm. During the inaugural function, Hon’ble Prime Minister’s message on Parakram Diwas, 2026 will be broadcast. Admiral D.K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, A&N Islands and Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
The programme also includes Drone Show, grand Cultural Performances by eminent artists like Shri. Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Shri. Papon, Shri. Amaan Ali Bangash, Shri Ayaan Ali Bangash, Smt. Mangli, Shri Raghu Dixit, Smt. Pratibha Singh Baghel and Shri Sourendro-Soumyojit, along with participation of school children of A&N Islands.
Further at the ITF Ground, a mega exhibition on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose along with folk performances from different corners of India will be organized on Jan. 24 & 25. Visitors can also experience a rich blend of flavors of different island cuisines and a vibrant display of traditional handicrafts by different tribal artists. A Theatrical Performance by the National School of Drama will also form part of the cultural programme on Jan. 24.
