Sri Vijaya Puram, July 23: Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has written to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Vijayapuram, expressing deep concern over the scheduling of multiple college counseling sessions on the same day i.e. 28th July 2025.
In his communication, the MP highlighted that a large number of parents and students have reached out to him, raising concerns about the counseling dates fixed for admission to JNRM, DIET (JBT) and professional courses under the Administration Quota in mainland colleges — all of which are currently scheduled for 28.07.2025.
Shri Ray pointed out that many aspiring students have applied to more than one of these courses based on their eligibility. Holding all counseling sessions on the same day would make it impossible for students to attend more than one session, leading to the loss of valuable opportunities and negatively impacting their educational future.
In the interest of fairness and to uphold the aspirations of students across the Islands, Shri Ray has urged the Chief Secretary to direct all concerned departments and institutions to reschedule the counseling dates in a staggered manner. This would ensure that no two sessions overlap, enabling all eligible candidates to attend without conflict.
Shri Bishnu Pada Ray emphasized that such an arrangement would promote transparency, equal opportunity, and would be in the best interest of the student community of these Islands.
