MY Bharat in Association with TGCE Organises Padyatra to Mark Shaheed Diwas

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 23: A Padyatra on the occasion of Shaheed Diwas was successfully organized by MY Bharat, Sri Vijaya Puram, in association with TGCE under the theme “MY Bharat MY Responsibility”. The programme aimed to pay tribute to the martyrs, strengthen national unity and patriotism, and inspire youth towards active participation in nation-building, in line with the objectives of the MY Bharat campaign.

Ms. Purva Garg, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, graced the occasion as the chief guest, flagged off the rally. In her address, she emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices of the martyrs and highlighted the role of youth in nation-building, civic responsibility, and maintaining unity and discipline in society.

Dr. Manjulata Rao, Principal, TGCE, was also present as a guest on the occasion. The programme commenced with the Joint Director, MY Bharat, Sri Vijaya Puram, welcoming the chief guest and other dignitaries.

The padyatra began from Shaheed Smarak, TGCE and proceeded through Bengali Club Junction, Model School, Clock Tower, and Narayan Chowk, culminating at the historic National Memorial Cellular Jail.

A total of around 150 youth participants, including students and volunteers, actively took part in the Padyatra. The participants carried placards and the National Flag and raised slogans such as ‘MY Bharat MY Responsibility’; ‘Viksit Bharat – Youth for Nation’; ‘’Salute to Our Martyrs’; ‘Unity, Discipline and Responsibility’.

The programme concluded at Cellular Jail, where participants paid tributes to all martyrs, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of sacrifice, unity, and nation-building. 

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and successfully conveyed a strong message of civic responsibility and national pride among the youth. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Gopal Ch Biswas, APS (OSD), MY Bharat.
