Sri Vijaya Puram, June 25: As part of the week-long Anti-Drug Awareness Programme organized by the Science Wing of Directorate of Education, Andaman & Nicobar Administration from 23rd to 28th June, 2025 at the State Library, Middle Point, Day-3 was observed as ‘Painting Day’.
Over 100 students from various schools of Sri Vijaya Puram enthusiastically participated in the event. Students from Classes VI to XII were grouped into two categories. In the junior category (Classes VI to VIII), a Poster Making Competition was held on the theme ‘Say No to Drugs’, where students created posters with powerful slogans. In the senior category (Classes IX to XII), students designed colourful logos for Anti-Drug T-shirts, creatively expressing their message against drug use.
An engaging activity titled ‘Value Tree’ was also conducted, where students shared their personal values that help them lead a disciplined and meaningful life. These values aim to build awareness and promote drug-free behaviour among the students.
On this occasion, Director (Edn.), Shri Vikram Singh, addressed the participants and shared an inspiring motivational story, encouraging students to make wise choices and stay away from drugs.
Each day of the programme begins with a short recap session, providing students an opportunity to reflect on their learning and share their thoughts and experiences.
As part of Day-4 activities, an Anti-Drug Awareness Rally will be organised on 26th June, 2025 at 10 am, starting from the National Memorial Cellular Jail and concluding at the State Library, to further spread awareness among the students and the public.
