PS Aberdeen Solves Blind Hit-And-Run Case Within 18 Hours

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 26: Towards the commitment of zero tolerance against any crime, the team of Police Station Aberdeen had successfully solved a blind hit-and-run case within 18 hours of the incident. The case occurred on 22nd May 2025 at approximately 1830 hours at Corbyn’s Cove road.

The complainant came to PS Aberdeen and reported that he was hit by an unknown vehicle and the rider fled away from the scene after the collision. Upon this, a case has been registered at Police Station Aberdeen and a team was swiftly constituted led by Sub-Inspector Abhishek Haldar assisted by Police Constable K. Jagdish Babu.

The team began extensive search of accused by analysing the CCTV footages of the surrounding areas and gathering of intelligence through local sources. Through sustained efforts, it was discovered from a source that Saktipada Ghorai, a chef by profession, working at a local Resort near Corbyn’s Cove had recently sustained injuries matching those from a vehicular accident. Acting swiftly, the police team located and detained him.

Upon sustained interrogation, Saktipada Ghorai confessed to his involvement in the incident and admitted that he had fled away from the scene in an attempt to evade apprehension.

The case was solved under the guidance of Inspector Vishal Ram, SHO PS Aberdeen, under the leadership of Shri Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIPS, SDPO, South Andaman and overall supervision of Superintendent of Police, South Andaman.
