
Rangat, Dec. 7: With the view for increasing the productivity of crops, adding nutrition and income, a two-days training programme on ‘scientific bee keeping’ was organised by Zonal Agriculture office, Rangat in the Gram Panchayat Hall, Dashrathpur on Dec. 5 under MIDH scheme in association with the National Bee Board, MoA & FW, New Delhi. The training programme aims to improve knowledge and skills in scientific beekeeping practices in farmers field/SHGs as it supports rural livelihoods and also agricultural activities through cross pollination and increase in yield of crops.
Inaugurating the programme as the chief guest Shri. Ajit Dakua, Chairman of PACS, Rangat emphasized that such programmes are required to explore the importance of beekeeping for the upliftment of the farming community especially the youth. Shri. Lankeshwar, PRI member, Dashrathpur was the guest of honour in the programme.
Smt. Shirly Thomas, Assistant Director (Agri), Rangat introduced the gathering on various aspect of Bee-Keeping, its scope and importance in agriculture.
The second day programme was organized today as a field visit at Coconut Plantation, Chitrakut, Rangat for hands-on training and practical demonstration on beekeeping practices and its management where Shri C. Santosh Kumar, Agriculture Field Assistant, delivered a brief overview on Scientific rearing of honey bee, establishing a new box and its maintenance.
