Sri Vijaya Puram, July 23: Six-year-old Nehairka D from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands made the islands proud by securing 4th position in both the Rapid and Blitz formats in the Under-8 Girls category at the 1st Shatranj India Open FIDE Rated Rapid and Blitz Chess Tournament 2025 held at Thyagraj Stadium, New Delhi, on 19th and 20th July 2025.
The tournament witnessed the participation of over 560 players from across the country, including some of the most promising young talents in the nation.
The Andaman and Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) congratulated Nehairka on her impressive performance and extended their best wishes for her continued success in upcoming tournament.
