Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 27: As part of the celebrations of World Tourism Day 2026 and under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign, a Beach Cleanliness Drive was organized at identified beaches across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. The cleanliness drive was conducted at Marina Park, NSCB Island, Corbyn’s Cove, Burma Nallah, Chidiyatapu Beach, Wandoor Beach, Shoal Bay 19, North Bay Coral Island and Collinpur Beach and in other beaches of the Islands.
The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, environmental responsibility and responsible tourism among visitors and the local community. The general public, tourists, local residents, students, youth, tourism stakeholders and other concerned stakeholders participated in the Beach Cleanliness Drive and contributed towards keeping the beaches clean, green and plastic-free.
