Sri Vijaya Puram, June 18: As part of the on-going series of events, the Tourism Department is organizing a ‘Beach Yoga Festival’ on 21st June, 2025 with the theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’. The festival will take place at popular beaches across the Islands in collaboration with the respective Deputy Commissioners of South Andaman, North & Middle Andaman, and Nicobar Districts, along with all line Departments. A mass yoga session, following the Common Yoga Protocol, will be conducted simultaneously across all identified beaches, accompanied by expert talks on the theme ‘Interlinking Climate, Health, and Wellness’. At Corbyn’s Cove Beach, in addition to the above activities, yoga competitions-comprising Asanas, Pranayama, and Kriya-will be organized, encouraging participation from various age groups. Winners of these competitions will be suitably awarded by the Department. The session will commence at 7 am onwards.
Participants who are regularly practicing yoga have been requested to bring their own mats and accessories. The Department has invited tourists, youth, and members of the general public to actively participate in this enriching event and to assemble at the designated locations on time to ensure the smooth conduct and grand success of the programme.
