Sri Vijaya Puram, March 23: The Directorate of Tourism invites applications from registered travel agents/tour operators of the Department for participation in a Familiarization (FAM) Tour to Little Andaman Island.
The FAM Tour is being organized to promote Little Andaman as an emerging tourist destination and to showcase its key attractions, including Butler Bay Beach, White Surf Waterfall, and other eco-tourism experiences. The initiative aims to encourage the development of curated tour packages and enhance destination visibility across travel and digital platforms. The tour is scheduled from 29th March to 31st March (3 Days / 2 Nights), with travel between Sri Vijaya Puram and Hut Bay by ferry. The tentative program includes site visits, local stakeholder interactions etc. A maximum of 30 participants will be accommodated in the first phase, including concerned officials from the Tourism Department. Preference will be given to travel agents registered with the Department under the Gold and Bronze categories.
In the event of limited or no response from registered travel agents, up to two members/travel agents from each of the leading tourism associations-such as AAТО, ANTOA & FORTO etc. may be requested to nominate suitable agencies for participation in the said trip within the stipulated time with all details. The Directorate will arrange to-and-fro ferry tickets only. All other expenses, including accommodation, food, and local logistics, shall be borne by the participants. Interested applicants may submit their willingness to participate along with relevant details to the Directorate of Tourism on or before 27/03/2026.
