Rangat, April 19: The two-day Beach Sports Festival was successfully conducted on 18th and 19th April, 2026 at Raman Bagicha Beach, Nimbutala, Rangat, under the Calendar of Events 2025–2026 of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. The event was organized by the Tourism Department, A & N Islands in coordination with the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Middle Andaman, Gram Panchayat Nimbutala, and other line departments, with enthusiastic participation from the local community.
A vibrant series of beach sports and recreational activities aimed at promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and community engagement among youth and residents were held. Various sports events such as Beach Volleyball, 50-metre Freestyle Swimming, Beach Kabaddi, Beach Football, and Tug of War were conducted for both men and women. In addition, entertainment activities including Musical Chair were organized exclusively for women participants. The events witnessed active participation and created a lively and festive atmosphere at the venue.
The event concluded with a Closing Ceremony today at Raman Bagicha Beach, which was graced by Shri Deepanshu Vohra, Assistant Commissioner, Middle Andaman. The chief guest appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the community and extended his best wishes to all participants. The ceremony also featured the distribution of prizes to winners and participants.
