Two-Day DPC Meeting Held at District Office Car Nicobar

Car Nicobar, June 13: A two-day District Planning Committee (DPC) meeting was successfully held on June 11 & 12, 2025, at the District Office Conference Hall, Perka (HQ), Car Nicobar, under the Chairmanship of Shri Amit Kale, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District. The meeting was convened in the august presence of Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, and witnessed active participation from Chairmen and representatives of the Tribal Councils across the Islands, alongside concerned Heads of Departments.

The primary objective of the meeting was to finalize the Annual Action Plan 2025–26 for the Nicobar District, review the implementation status of various Government schemes, and address key developmental concerns raised during previous DPC meetings.

All 23 line Departments presented their proposed Annual Action Plans and Action Taken Reports (ATRs) on earlier issues, reinforcing transparency and accountability in district-level governance.

Tribal Council leaders actively contributed to the discussions, highlighting region-specific concerns related to public service delivery, infrastructure development, and livelihood enhancement. The DPC platform enabled constructive dialogue and consensus-building to devise effective, community-oriented strategies.

The Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of inter-departmental coordination and timely execution of development projects. He assured all tribal representatives that genuine demands would be prioritized and addressed through appropriate administrative and developmental interventions in a phased and systematic manner.

The meeting concluded with a shared sense of purpose and commitment towards ensuring inclusive development, responsive governance, and the sustained well-being of the tribal communities of Nicobar District.
