Two-Day Training Programme on Common Yoga Protocol Concludes

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 28: The AYUSH Wing of the Directorate of Health Services and A & N State Ayush Society (NAM) organized the valedictory function of a two-day training programme on the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) for CHOs, ASHAs, and ANMs in connection with the observance of the 12th International Day of Yoga, 2026.

The training programme was conducted on 27th and 28th April, 2026, at the Auditorium of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sri Vijaya Puram. The programme aimed to impart practical knowledge and enhance awareness of the Common Yoga Protocol among frontline health workers, enabling them to promote yoga practices and healthy lifestyles within the community.

The function was graced by Dr. H.M Siddaraju, Director of Health Services, as the chief guest. In his address, he appreciated the efforts of the AYUSH Department in organizing the training programme and emphasized the importance of yoga in preventive healthcare and overall well-being. He also encouraged participants to spread awareness about yoga among the people of the islands.

Earlier, Dr. Kalyan P. Kadbhane, DD (AYUSH), welcomed the gathering.  Dr. Nandini, MO I/c (Yoga & Naturopathy), and the team of Yoga Therapist/ Instructors attached to AYUSH conducted the technical sessions. A total of 80 participants enthusiastically took part in the training programme.
