Van Mahotsav 2025: “Khairath – 1000 Gifts for the Future” Green Mission Begins

Wimberlygunj, July 2: In a significant step towards environmental sustainability, the much-awaited “Khairath – 1000 Gifts for the Future” tree plantation campaign was officially launched today at IQRA Public School, Wimberlygunj, marking the beginning of an ambitious mission to plant 1,000 trees across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The inaugural event was held in celebration of Van Mahotsav 2025, and was graced by the presence of Shri. Ashwin J Parihar, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, South Andaman, as the Chief Guest.

The program was further honoured by the august presence of Shri. Ravi Kant, IFS, Assistant Conservator of Forests, South Andaman, Dr. Manoharan, Deputy Education Officer, Wimberlygunj and Jb. VM Zainuddin Haji, President, ASMJ

In their addresses, the dignitaries highlighted the urgent need for environmental responsibility and appreciated the initiative’s aim to foster a culture of ecological care among the younger generation.

Organisers emphasized that the Khairath Green Mission is not just a one-day campaign but a continuing effort that will see 1,000 trees planted across various locations in the islands in the coming weeks. The campaign aims to inspire collective action for a greener, healthier tomorrow.

The event witnessed active participation from students, educators, local leaders, and volunteers, making the launch a resounding success.
