Sri Vijaya Puram, May 28: The 2nd New Delhi Open International FIDE Rated Blitz and Rapid Chess Tournament, held at the Thyagaraja Stadium in New Delhi on May 24th and 25th, witnessed some exciting and competitive play from young chess prodigies across various categories.
Saw Jinson Samuel of Carmel Senior Secondary School made an impressive mark by clinching the 1st Position in the U-8 Boys Blitz category. The young talent further showcased his skill in the Rapid format, securing the 8th Position in the U-8 Boys category. His exceptional performance in both events earned him well-deserved recognition at this prestigious chess event.
Priya Singh of Vitala Public School, Hope Town, Bambooflat, also earned accolades by finishing 7th Position in the U-12 Girls Blitz category.
Around 660 players participated in the tournament, making it a highly competitive event with a large number of talented participants.
