Zonal Agriculture Office Rangat Conducts Training Programme on ‘Scientific Bee Keeping’

Rangat, June 27: A two days training programme on ‘Scientific Bee Keeping’ was organized by Zonal Agriculture Office, Rangat, Department of Agriculture, A & N Administration in collaboration with the National Bee Board, MoA & FW, New Delhi. The chief guest, Shri R. Madhavan, Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, N&M Andaman inaugurated the programme organized at Gram Panchayat Hall, Parnashala yesterday. Shri Balamurugan, Pradhan, Parnashala, Panchayat, was the guest of honour.

The chief guest emphasized that such programmes are required to explore the importance of beekeeping for the upliftment of the farming community especially the youths. The guest of honour motivated the farmers/SHGs to take up bee keeping. Shri Rakesh Dawar, SMS, KVK, Nimbudera, N&M Andaman shared his experience on bee keeping practice taken up in KVK.

Earlier, Shri Kanhaya Lal Prasad, Agriculture Officer, Rangat welcomed the gathering and enlightened the objective of the programme.

The second day programme i.e. June 26 was organized as a field visit to Coconut Plantation, Chitrakut, Rangat for hands-on training and practical demonstration on beekeeping practices and its management. Smti Saraswati Sutradhar, Smti Babita Bachan & Ms Sheena Isac, Agriculture Assistants enlightened the participants on various aspects of bee keeping.
