AATO Delegation Meets Hon’ble Union Minister Kiren Rijiju at Sri Vijaya Puram

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 24: A delegation of the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) had the privilege of meeting Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju during his recent visit to the emerald islands and discuss various issues related to the development and promotion of tourism in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The delegation was led by Shri M. Vinod, President, AATO, and included Shri Saikat Biswas, General Secretary, and Shri Javeed Ali, Vice President

During the cordial and productive interaction, the delegation apprised the Hon’ble Minister of the immense tourism potential of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and highlighted the need for continued investment in tourism infrastructure, improved connectivity, and sustainable destination development.

Shri M. Vinod emphasized the significant contribution of tourism to the islands’ economy and employment generation. He requested the Hon’ble Minister’s support for granting Industry Status to Tourism, a long-pending demand that would facilitate greater investment, improve access to financial assistance, and enhance the overall competitiveness of the tourism sector in the islands.

The delegation also discussed various measures to strengthen tourism infrastructure, improve visitor experiences, and promote the Andaman & Nicobar Islands as a premier global tourism destination .

Hon’ble Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju patiently heard the concerns and suggestions put forth by the delegation and appreciated the efforts of tourism stakeholders in promoting the islands. He assured that the issues raised would receive due consideration and reiterated the Government’s commitment towards tourism-led development.

AATO expressed its gratitude to the Hon’ble Minister for his valuable time, encouragement, and support towards the growth of tourism in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The Association remains committed to working closely with the Government and all stakeholders for the sustainable development and promotion of tourism in the islands.
