Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 4: Shri Gyanesh Bharti, IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, re-opened the Munda Pahad Trek at Chidiyatapu today in the presence of Shri Sanjay Kumar Sinha, IFS, PCCF (ANI), and other senior officers. The Chief Secretary and the officers trekked to the Munda Pahad View Point and back, covering approximately 2.50 km.
The renovated trail passes through picturesque tropical forests rich in birdlife and culminates at the southernmost tip of South Andaman, offering spectacular panoramic views of the sea and coastline. Developed as an eco-tourism attraction, the trek aims to promote nature appreciation and responsible tourism while conserving the fragile forest ecosystem.
The trek is open to visitors on all days from 9 AM to 3 PM, subject to prescribed guidelines for responsible visitation.
