Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 11: A Massive protest Rally-cum-Dharna was organized by the Leaders & Karyakartas of BJP A&N Islands at 03:30 PM TODAY, on 10/10/2026. BJP, A & N Islands organized this peaceful Protest Rally and Gherao of State Congress Office at Sri Vijaya Puram, against the shameful and heinous act of sexual harassment to a number of girl students at JNU by a JNU Professor and Congress MP Prof. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam.
The BJP has always stood for the dignity, safety and honour of our daughters and sisters (Nari Shakti). Such heinous exploitation in a premier institution like JNU and the involvement / shielding by Congress leadership is highly condemnable and cannot be tolerated.
The Rally originated from the BJP State Headquarter and proceeded towards the State Congress Office and expressed the anguish and disappointment towards the national leaders of Congress Party particularly Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge for their utter silence and non-action on the Congress MP Prof. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam. The Senior Leaders of BJP, A & N Islands condemned the non-action and wilful silence of Congress Leadership and their dual standards.
