
Ferrargunj, Oct. 12: A Block Level Training programme on ‘Role of Gram Panchayats in ensuring good health, well-being, and preventing diseases and awareness on mental and physical health’ was organized on Oct. 8 at the CMTC Building, Ferrargunj, by Block Development Office, Ferrargunj, under Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).
The programme aimed to strengthen the capacity of Gram Panchayats and health functionaries in promoting community health and hygiene at the grassroots level. It brought together Pradhans, Panchayat Secretaries, ANMs, Anganwadi Workers, and members of Gram Panchayat Health and Sanitation Committees, with a total participation of 86 attendees.
In her opening speech, Smti. Saakshi Saha, BPM, Ferrargunj outlined the objectives of the training and emphasized the proactive role of Gram Panchayats in spreading awareness on mental and physical health. This was followed by an introductory session by Miss C. Vijaya, Domain Expert (Women Empowerment), who provided an insightful overview on the theme. Shri Madan Singh, Health Educator, AAM Ferrargunj stressed on preventive healthcare practices and the need for behavioral change at the community level.
An interactive activity session was conducted by Smti. Fathima Zohra, Public Health Nurse. Smt. Lalita Tigga, BDO Ferrargunj also spoke on the occasion and distributed prizes to the winners of various activities. Smti. Kakoli Ghosh (Panchayat Secretary, Wandoor) got the first prize, Smti. Grace Toppo (ANM, AAM Ferrargunj) got second prize and Shri Mohd. Jabir (PS Ferrargunj and Brindaban) got third prize.
