
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 13 (PIB): A contingent of 180 NCC cadets, along with Permanent Instructors (PI) and Girls Cadet Instructors (GCI) staff, drawn from 17 NCC Directorates across the country, including cadets from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands arrived today at Military Station, Brichgunj, Sri Vijaya Puram to participate in the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) – 2026, being conducted from 13 to 22 January 2026.

The arrival of the cadets marks a significant milestone in the conduct of the camp, which aims to promote national integration, discipline, leadership, and cultural understanding among the youth of the country.
On arrival, the cadets were formally received and addressed by the Group Commander Col Hariteja, who underlined the importance of NCC camps as platforms for cultural exchange, national unity, and personality development. He emphasized that such camps play a crucial role in fostering mutual respect and understanding among cadets from diverse regions of India.
The cadets were also addressed by Commanding Officer (Army Unit) Col K. Y. Singh who encouraged the cadets to make the most of the opportunity by actively participating in all camp activities and learning from the diverse experiences offered during the camp.
A special presentation on the Andaman & Nicobar Islands was delivered by Lt (Dr) Vivek Kumar Sahu, Associate NCC Officer, JNRM, highlighting the rich history, strategic importance, cultural heritage, biodiversity, and geographical significance of the islands, providing the cadets with a comprehensive understanding of the unique identity of the Union Territory.
