Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 22: The Police Entertainment Team (PET) and Brass Band of the Andaman & Nicobar Police actively participated in the Andaman & Nicobar Book Fair–2026, held from 14th to 22nd February 2026 at ITF Ground, Sri Vijaya Puram. The event was organized by the Department of Art & Culture, Andaman & Nicobar Administration with the objective of promoting reading culture and literary engagement among the public.
As part of the celebrations, the PET and Brass Band presented a series of cultural and awareness programmes, blending patriotic musical performances with socially relevant themes. Through impactful skits, live music, and interactive sessions, the team addressed key issues such as Road Safety, Drug Abuse, Alcohol Abuse, and Cyber Crime. The programmes emphasized responsible driving practices, adherence to traffic regulations, and the prevention of road accidents. They also highlighted the serious health, social, and legal consequences of substance abuse, encouraging youth to adopt a disciplined and healthy lifestyle.
Special focus was given to cyber safety, educating the public about online frauds, digital scams, identity theft, and safe use of social media platforms. The initiative drew an enthusiastic response from students, families, and visitors, reinforcing the commitment of the Andaman & Nicobar Police to community outreach, public awareness, and nation-building through creative engagement.
