Block Level Training on Creating Self-Sufficient Villages Organised in Diglipur

Diglipur, Feb. 26: A Block-level training programme on creating self-sufficient villages was held at GPOA Hall, Administrative Building, Diglipur today, focusing on strategic development and new emerging initiatives under Theme 6.

The programme targets Pradhans, Junior Engineers (PRIs), Assistant Engineers (PRIs), and Panchayat Secretaries, focusing on holistic village development through skill enhancement and local governance strengthening.

The training covered key areas such as essential utilities, community infrastructure, connectivity, and digitalization, as well as resilient infrastructure and livelihood support. Participants learned about modern, sustainable approaches to rural development, including green and sustainable energy, waste management, and digitalization.

The programme emphasized the importance of community participation, planning, and awareness in achieving clean and green villages. Initiatives such as the GOBARdhan programme, which converts organic waste into biogas and bio-slurry, and the promotion of organic farming and natural farming practices, were highlighted as key strategies for achieving sustainability.
