ADTOI Andaman Chapter Organises Beach Cleaning Drive to Promote Responsible Tourism

Port Blair, July 5: The Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) – Andaman Chapter successfully organised a Beach Cleaning Program at Veer Savarkar Park, Burmanallah, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation and responsible tourism in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The cleanliness drive was led by Shri M. Vinod, Chapter Chairman, ADTOI – Andaman Chapter, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from ADTOI members and tourism stakeholders. The initiative was aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of keeping beaches clean, protecting the fragile coastal ecosystem, and encouraging sustainable tourism practices.

Addressing the participants, Shri M. Vinod said that the pristine beaches of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are among the region’s greatest tourism assets, and preserving them is a shared responsibility. He urged tourism stakeholders, local residents, and visitors to adopt environmentally responsible practices and contribute towards maintaining the natural beauty of the islands.

The programme was conducted under the theme “Clean Beaches, Greener Tomorrow”, highlighting the significance of community participation in protecting the environment. Volunteers collected plastic waste and other litter from the beach and spread awareness among visitors about avoiding single-use plastics and maintaining cleanliness.

ADTOI Andaman Chapter expressed its gratitude to all members and volunteers who participated in the initiative and reaffirmed its commitment to organising more such awareness and conservation programmes in the future.
