D. SR DIET in Collaboration with SIE Conducts in Service Capacity Building Training for PSTs

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 27: Dr. S. Radhakrishnan District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), in collaboration with the State Institute of Education, Sri Vijaya Puram, has successfully conducted a comprehensive 6-phase, 5-day in-service capacity-building training program for Primary School Teachers (PSTs) of the Education Department, A & N Administration under the leadership of Shri Vikram Singh, Director (Education). The program was conducted in face-to-face mode during the summer vacation from 19.05.2025 to 27.06.2025.

The training focused on equipping teachers with competency-based pedagogical practices, innovative assessment methods, and the introduction of new NCERT subjects and textbooks.  The training was conducted in six phases across multiple venues to ensure wide participation while adhering to logistical and safety protocols.  A total of 1212 (82%) Primary School Teachers were trained in different venues, marking a significant milestone in the professional development of the teachers. 

The sixth and final phase concluded today at the GMSSS Auditorium, where Smt. Sangeeta Chand, Principal of the State Institute of Education and DIET, addressed the participants. She emphasized the need for teachers to continuously refine their skills and transition from content-based to competency-based teaching methodologies. “This training is a stepping stone toward transforming our classrooms into dynamic, student-centered learning environments,” she remarked. 

The initiative reflects the Administration’s commitment to empowering teachers with the tools and knowledge required to implement NEP 2020 effectively.
