Sri Vijaya Puram, June 15: The Deputy Education Office, Wimberlygunj successfully organized the ‘Run with Nature’ Marathon today. The event was open to all, featuring a 10 km run for men, a 5 km run for women, and a 4 km Walkathon for senior citizens, starting and ending at Chunnabatta– North Bay – Chunnabatta.
Over 200 participants enthusiastically took part in the event, which was flagged off by Shri Vikram Singh, Director (Education/Sports). The Director (Education/Sports) presented cash awards and trophies to the men’s category winners and in his valedictory address, urged the younger generation to embrace sports to lead a healthy lifestyle and stay away from drug abuse. Dr. Shweta, along with Smt. Rasheeda (Pradhan, GP Hopetown) and Ms Mariyam Bibi (ZP Member), gave away cash prizes and trophies to the winners in the women’s category. Shri Niti Bhardwaj, Assistant Branch Manager, SBI and Dr. Manoharan, DEO, Wimberlygunj, distributed awards to the senior citizens category. Special awards were also presented to the CWSN (Children With Special Needs) participant and the youngest participant who successfully completed the marathon.
