Sri Vijaya Puram, June 2: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS), A&N Administration, Sri Vijaya Puram, has launched the 31st Round (6th Phase of NADCP) of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination programme today with the flagging off of eleven vaccination teams by the chief guest, Shri Prakash Adhikari, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman at a simple function organized at Veterinary Polyclinic, Dollygunj.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest applauded the efforts of the Department and expressed hope that there would be substantial growth in the Animal Health sector in the future also. He also emphasized the importance of working in closed association with Gram Panchayats for fulfillment of the objective. He stated that the Department’s efforts are crucial in preventing the spread of the animal disease and protecting the livelihoods of farmers and livestock owners. He also stressed that cleanliness and hygiene should be advocated to the Animal Husbandry farmers.
