Sri Vijaya Puram, June 22: Under the aegis of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), a Health Awareness Programme on HIV/AIDS was organized by Jeevan Jothi Village Organization at Brindaban, Kadakachang Community Hall, under C.D Block Ferrargunj yesterday.
The awareness session was conducted by Shri G. Venkateshwar Rao, Counsellor (ANACS) Bambooflat, and Ms. Farida Bibi, Lab Technician, Bambooflat. During the session, participants were sensitized on HIV/AIDS prevention, safe health practices, reduction of stigma and discrimination, and the importance of timely testing and seeking medical consultation.
As part of the programme, testing for HIV/AIDS and Syphilis was conducted. Screening services for Hepatitis-B, Hepatitis-C, HIV, and Syphilis were also provided to the beneficiaries.
