
Car Nicobar, June 19: In a significant step towards empowering senior citizens with essential life-saving skills, the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Car Nicobar organized a skilling training program on first-aid care for elderly residents of Lapathy Village.
The program was held with active participation from senior citizens, aiming to build their capacity in managing emergency health situations at home and within the community. The training was addressed by CDPO, Car Nicobar, Smti Sunita Kumari who emphasized the importance of equipping elders with basic health care knowledge to enhance their confidence and well-being.
The technical sessions was conducted by Shri. Peter G, (PTPST) Education Department, Master Trainer who provided hands-on training and demonstrations on key First-Aid technique including CPR, wound dressing, burning treatment (1st degree, 2nd degree, 3rd degree), fracture supports and emergency response measures. The session was interactive and participants actively engaged in learning and practicing the methods.
The Village Captain, Small Lapathy, Smt. Jassie addressed and appreciated the initiative taken by CDPO, ICDS, Car Nicobar for the welfare of the senior citizens. Village Secretary, Shri. Onisimus encouraged the elderly to make the best use of the training and act as first responders within their homes and neighborhoods in case of minor health emergency.
