Port Blair, May 24: The resident families of Hopetown whose houses were damaged by the landslide due to the heavy rainfall have been shifted to Primary School, Hopetown.

The families reached out for help to Shri Mandeep Grewal, President, PBGKR. Reacting to the request, PBGKR delivered 15 Ration kits at the Primary School at Hopetown on the same day.

Car Nicobar, May 24: The District Child Protection Unit, Nicobar organized a career counselling cum interaction session at District Library, Car Nicobar for Tribal students today. Shri Yash Chaudhary, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District was the Chief Guest for the event.

Keeping in view the power demand in the city and in order to manage the demand, I, Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, District Magistrate, South Andaman on behalf of the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Power) requests all the general public and high value customers i.e. Hoteliers and Commercial establishments to judiciously use the power during peak hours.

The hoteliers and owners of commercial establishments are advised to meet their power requirement by using their DG Sets during the peak hours to mitigate the power crisis being experienced in Port Blair and adjoining areas.

Port Blair, May 24: On the request of Councillor ward no 7, Smti. Amar Devi, the Chairperson Port Blair Municipal Council, Smti. U. Kavitha today visited the Community Halls and Parking place situated in ward no 7 in the municipal area.  Shri. Aziz Ur Rahaman, Sr. Vice Chairperson PBMC and Officials of the Council were also present during the visits.

Port Blair, May 24: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,80,055 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,528 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 12,286 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 23558.
